Mitsubishi Hybrid Heavy Trucks

The Mitsubishi Fuso Canter is a workhorse transport truck familiar to many different industrial and commercial clients around the world, but it has also recently been exported as one of the first international diesel / electric hybrid heavy trucks.

Although available in Japan since 2006, the Fuso Canter has just been shipped off to clients in both Ireland and Australia, for the first time making its presence felt in foreign markets.  The truck makes use of a turbodiesel engine that combines with an electric motor which automatically engages when the vehicle is at rest.  The Fuso Canter also features an all-electric mode that allows it to function with zero emissions.
